2012 Dodge Ram Super Duty vs 2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD

2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD vs Dodge Ram HD

At Chevrolet Buckley we recognize that we sell the unsurpassed heavy duty truck on the market, no doubt about it. The Dodge HD just can’t fight the Silverado HD in any scenario. The Silverado HD has greater power, performance, handling, safety and functionality. Below is a short sampling of some of the ways the Chevrolet Silverado HD outperforms the Dodge HD:

Safety: For increased protection, the rear seats have child car seat anchors, and the front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Silverado HD are height-adjustable. The Dodge HD has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. The Silverado HD’s standard pretensioning seatbelts sense rear collisions and tighten the front seatbelts accordingly to protect passengers from injuries including whiplash. The HD doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system, yet another example of how we at Chevrolet go the extra mile. The Chevrolet Silverado HD has Daytime Running Lights that keep it evident under all conditions. The HD doesn’t offer Daytime Running Lights. These are just a few of he better-quality safety features in the Silverado HD that the Super Duty decided not to provide.

The Silverado HD has available OnStar, which utilizes global positioning and cellular systems to remotely unlock your doors, track your truck if it’s stolen and even send emergency personnel to the scene in case of a collision. Your mind will consistently be at ease, knowing your car will have security even when you’re nowhere near it. The Ram HD doesn’t offer a comparable system, leaving you vulnerable if you’re incapacitated.

Warranty: There are over 40 percent more Chevrolet dealers than there are Dodge dealers, which makes it easier to get service under the Silverado HD’s warranty.

Power and Performance: The Silverado HD’s 6.6L turbo V8 diesel delivers 47 more horsepower than the Ram HD’s diesel engine. The Silverado HD’s 6.6 turbo V8 diesel produces 47 more horsepower than the Ram HD’s optional 6.7 turbo diesel engine. The Silverado HD also has greater towing capacity than the Ram HD and the Silverado has a much larger payload capacity than the Ram. The Silverado HD 3500 Crew Cab 4×4 has a hauling capacity of 4,190 pounds compared to the Ram HD 4×4’s payload capacity of only 2,590 pounds!

To make the Silverado HD more economical it has the option to use regular unleaded gasoline. The Ram HD requires mid-grade gas to operate properly, costing you significantly more money over time. The Silverado HD also has 2 gallons more fuel capacity than the Ram HD Short Bed’s standard fuel tank. The Chevrolet Silverado HD comes standard issue with an automatic transmission, for the convenience of the driver. An automatic transmission costs extra on the Ram HD. The Silverado HD also offers a manual transmission with tap-up tap-down shifting (paddle shifters). The Ram HD once again,  fails to offer an equivalent transmission option.

Suspension and Handling: The Chevrolet Silverado HD’s independent front suspension is lighter than the HD 4×4’s solid front axle. This gives the Silverado HD greater capacity to react to the road. This makes both the ride and handling of the Chevy better than the Dodge. For an even smoother ride and better handling the Silverado HD’s wheelbase is longer than the HD’s. The Silverado HD’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower profile than the Ram HD’s tires. The Silverado also offers available 20-inch wheels—which allow for better handling. The Ram HD’s largest wheels are only 17 inches.

Interior: The Silverado HD Regular Cab has more front headroom and more front legroom than the Ram HD Regular Cab. The Silverado HD Extended Cab also has more front head and leg room well as more rear head and leg room than the HD SuperCab. The Silverado HD Crew Cab has more front room than the Ram HD Crew Cab. Thus, the Chevy Silverado HD is the more specious and comfortable choice than the Dodge Super Duty. The Silverado HD also offers a larger cargo box than the Ram HD.

Awards: The Silverado was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Five Trucks” for 4 of the last 11 years. The Ram HD has never been a Car and Driver “Top Five Truck” pick. Motor Trend selected the Silverado as their 2011 Truck of the Year. The Ram HD was Truck of the Year in 2010.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Ride and Handling

The Chevy Silverado 1500 offers excellent ride and handling that makes all of us here, at your committed Kent Chevrolet Dealership excited to offer this outstanding truck. Thanks to the Silverado’s fully boxed frame, the truck is strong enough to handle heavy workloads and large towing jobs. And the way the Silverado smooth handling works with its rigid fully boxed frame, coil-over-shock front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, all tied together with advanced engineering and manufacturing techniques evident throughout the entire truck create a smoother ride. The Silverado’s solid chassis results in a stronger base for towing. As a result of these elements the Chevy Silverado is given precise and smooth handling.

The 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 Is loaded with responsive active handling features that ensure your safety and others around you. In order to maintain control of your vehicle on all surfaces, antilock braking is standard on all Silverados. The StabiliTrak Stability Control System and the Roll Avoidance feature—which helps reduce the chance of rollover in a collision—are standard on all Silverado 1500s as well. StabiliTrak uses sensors to detect if the Silverado is following the drivers intended course or not and helps the driver maintain control of their truck with automatic braking and traction control assistance, if needed.

The Silverado XFE and LTZ models have the segment exclusive G80 automatic locking rear differential standard, and it’s available in all other Silverado models as well. The G80 grants the Silverado unparalleled traction control. If one wheel begins to spin the locking differential will correct the spin. This means that the Silverado actually has real 4-wheel drive capability and control, whereas the competition has only partially locking differentials at best. Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist are standard features on all Silverados except for the hybrid model. Trailer sway Control detects trailer sway and automatically uses the trucks brakes and powertrain to correct the trailer and the truck. Silverados equipped with the integrated trailer brake controller also automatically engaged the trailer’s brakes to control sway, as well as the truck’s brakes and powertrain. Hill Start Assist leaves the brakes of the Silverado engaged when on a steep grade for a few seconds after braking or until the gas pedal is pushed down. This effectively eliminates back roll.

At Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado is the most capable and precise handling truck in its class. So we invite you to come test drive a new Chevrolet Silverado with us here in Enumclaw Washington and experience the Silverado’s high level of performance and comfort for yourself. 2012 Chevrolet Impala

Safety:For increased safety, the front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Impala are height-adjustable, and the rear seats have child car seat anchors. The Dodge Charger has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. The Impala also has OnStar available, which uses GPS and cellular systems to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, track down your vehicle if it’s stolen and even send emergency personnel to the scene if there is a collision. The Dodge Charger doesn’t offer anything comparable to OnStar; which means help may not come for you nearly as fast as it would in a Chevy Impala.

2012 Dodge Ram 1500 vs 2012 Silverado 1500

At your Sumner Chevrolet Dealer we recognize that the Chevy Silverado is the best truck in its segment, hands down. The Ram 1500 just can’t compete with the Silverado on any level. The Silverado has greater power, performance, handling, safety and functionality than the Ram. Below is a short sampling of some of the ways the Chevrolet Silverado outperforms the Ram 1500:

Safety: For increased safety, the front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Silverado are height-adjustable, and the rear seats have child car seat anchors. The Ram 1500 has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. The Silverado’s standard pretensioning seatbelts sense rear collisions and tighten the front seatbelts accordingly to protect passengers from injuries including whiplash. The Ram 1500 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system. The Chevrolet Silverado has Daytime Running Lights that keep it visible under all conditions. The Ram 1500 doesn’t offer Daytime Running Lights. The Silverado also has OnStar available, which uses GPS and cellular systems to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, track down your vehicle if it’s stolen and even send emergency personnel to the scene if there is a collision. The Ram 1500 doesn’t offer anything comparable to OnStar. These are just a few of he superior safety features in the Silverado that the Super Duty fails to provide.

Warranty: There are over 40 percent more Chevrolet dealers than there are Ram dealers—making it much easier to get service under the Silverado’s Chevrolet warranty. 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs ram

Power: The Silverado has consistently more powerful engines than the Ram 1500. Whether your comparing the Silverado’s 325 horsepower 5.3L V8 with the Ram’s 310 horsepower 4.7L V8 ; or the Silverado’s 403 horsepower 6.2L V8 with the Ram’s 390 horsepower 5.7L V8—the Silverado comes out on top.

Fuel Economy: The Silverado also achieves consistently better gas mileage than the Ram. The standard fuel tank in the Silverado also holds 2 gallons more fuel than the Ram. The combination of superior capacity and fuel efficiency of the Silverado allows the Silverado to outwork the Ram for longer.

Transmission: The Silverado offers an optional tap-up tap-down automatic transmission that allows drivers to manually control their truck when they want—but still allows them the convenience of an automatic transmission. Thus, Silverado drivers can have the control of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic. The Ram 1500 doesn’t offer a transmission that allows for manual complete gear control at all.

Suspension and Handling: For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Silverado’s wheelbase is longer than on the Ram 1500. Moreover, engine vibration in the cab is almost totally eliminated because of the Silverado 5.3/6.0 V8’s liquid-filled front engine mounts. The Ram 1500 uses inferior solid rubber engine mounts.

Wheels: The Chevrolet Silverado’s wheels have 6 lugs compared to the Ram’s 5 lugs. This means that the Silverado gets longer wheel bearing life and greater wheel strength.

Interior: The Silverado simply has more passenger volume than the Ram 1500. This allows the Silverado to offer a more comfortable driver and passenger experience.

Storage: The Silverado has more storage capacity in its bed than the Ram, allowing you to get more done. The standard glovebox in the Silverado is locking—allowing you to keep your valuables safe. The Ram doesn’t offer a locking glovebox at all.

Payload and Towing: The Silverado’s 4,400 pound minimum standard towing capacity is significantly more than the Ram 1500’s 3,450 pounds. The maximum trailer towing in the Ram 1500 Regular Cab 4×4 is 10450 pounds. The Silverado 1500 Extended Cab offers a superior 10700 pounds of towing capacity. The Silverado also has higher standard and maximum payload capacities than the Ram. With these facts in mind, it’s clear that the Silverado is a much more capable truck with greater capacity and performance than the Ram.

The Vortec 4.8L is standard on all LS, LT, 4WD WT Extended Cab Long Box and WT Crew Cab. The LT Extended Cab Long Box model doesn’t come with this engine standard and the 4.8L is available on all WT models. The Vortec 4.8L V8 delivers 302 horsepower and has variable valve timing—which makes the engines performance smother and more consistent. The Vortec 4.8L engine is also efficient with its EPA estimated 20 highway MPG—impressive for a powerful truck!2012 Silverado 1500The next and most popular powertrain option for the Silverado 1500 is the Vortec 5.3L V8 with FlexFuel and Active Fuel Management. An iron block is standard on 2WD LTZ, but available on 2WD WT and LT Extended and Crew Cab models. The 5.3L has such a high level of performance due in part to its variable valve timing system which allows for smooth and consistent operation. 2012 Dodge Charger vs 2012 Chevrolet Impala

2012 Chevrolet Impala vs Dodge Charger

Here at your Bonney Lake Chevrolet Dealer we have noticed that the Charger has been attempting to compete with the Chevy Impala. Sad to say, it has failed in its attempts. The Dodge Charger just can’t compete with the Impala on any level. The Impala has greater power, performance, handling, safety and functionality. Below is a short sampling of some of the ways in which the Chevrolet Impala outperforms the Dodge Charger:

Safety: For increased safety, The Impala’s standard pretensioning seatbelts sense rear collisions and tighten the front seatbelts accordingly to protect passengers from injuries including whiplash. The Charger doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system. The front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Impala are height-adjustable, and the rear seats have child car seat anchors. The Dodge Charger has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. In order to stay visible at all times, the Impala has daytime running lights. Once again, The Charger does not offer this.

We all get into sticky situations from time to time. The New 2012 Chevy Impala offers OnStar, which uses GPS and cellular systems to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, track down your vehicle if it’s stolen and even send emergency personnel to the scene if there is a collision. Nothing comparable to OnStar comes on the dodge Charger, meaning help may not come as fast as it would with the Impala.

Warranty: Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty comes with free roadside assistance a feature not available with the Charger’s warranty. The Impala’s corrosion warranty is also 1 year longer than the Charger’s. Furthermore, there are over 40% more Chevrolet dealers than Dodge dealers, which means that it’s much easier to get your Impala serviced under warranty than it is to get a Charger serviced.

Engine: The Impala’s 3.6L DOHC V6 produces 8 more horsepower than the Charger’s standard engine. At the same time, the Impala’s engine is also more efficient than the Charger’ engine.

Interior: The Impala offers optional seating for up to six passengers while the Charger can only carry a maximum of five passengers. The Impala also has more passenger volume than the Charger allowing for a more comfortable ride for everyone in the car. The Impala also offers a much more trunk space than the Charger with more than 3 cubic feet of extra storage capacity.

2012 Silverado 1500

2012 Ford F-150 vs 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

2012 Silverado 1500 vs Ford F-150
At your Sumner Chevrolet Dealership we recognize that the Chevy Silverado is the best truck in its segment, hands down. The Ford F-150 just can’t compete with the Silverado on any level. The Silverado has greater power, performance, handling, safety and functionality. Below is a short sampling of some of the ways the Chevrolet Silverado outperforms the Ford F-150:

Safety: For increased safety, the front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Silverado are height-adjustable, and the rear seats have child car seat anchors. The Ford F-150 has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. The Silverado’s standard pretensioning seatbelts sense rear collisions and tighten the front seatbelts accordingly to protect passengers from injuries including whiplash. The F-150 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system. The Chevrolet Silverado has Daytime Running Lights that keep it visible under all conditions. The F-150 doesn’t offer Daytime Running Lights. These are just a few of the superior safety features in the Silverado that the Super Duty fails to provide.

Warranty: Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Silverado 40,000 miles longer than Ford covers the F-150! The Silverado’s corrosion warranty is also one year longer than the F-150’s. Clearly Chevrolet is more confident in the quality and durability of the Silverado than Ford is of its F-150. 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs Ford F-150
Fuel Economy and Range: On the EPA test cycle the Silverado gets better fuel mileage than the F‑150. An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Silverado 5.3/6.0 V8’s fuel efficiency. The F‑150 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

Suspension and Handling: For better handling and stability, the track on the Silverado is wider than the F‑150’s. Engine vibration in the Silverado’s cab is almost totally eliminated because of the Silverado 5.3/6.0 V8’s liquid-filled front engine mounts. The F-150 uses inferior solid rubber engine mounts. For better traction, the Silverado has larger standard tires than the F‑150. The Silverado’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the F‑150. This further contributes to the Silverado’s superior handling.  In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes hard enough to stop their vehicle fast enough. The Silverado has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations and will then automatically apply maximum braking immediately. The F‑150 doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

Interior space and Storage: The Silverado has more passenger volume than the F-150. The Silverado’s cargo box is larger than the F‑150’s and the Silverado has stake post holes; which allow the containment of tall loads. The F‑150 doesn’t offer stake post holes.

Payload: The Silverado has a higher standard payload capacity than the F‑150—allowing you to more work with a Silverado than an F-150.

Awards: The Silverado was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Five Trucks” four times. At Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado simply dominates its segment.

So we invite you to come test drive a new Chevrolet Silverado with us here in Enumclaw Washington and experience the Silverado’s high level of power and performance for yourself.
