Buick’s New Reveals: Avenir and Cascada

At the North American Auto Show in Detroit, Buick unveiled two new stunning cars. The first to roll down the red carpet was the 2016 Buick Cascada Convertible. Buick has not manufactured a convertible in over a quarter of century, and this car is worth the wait. This new convertible four leather seated car offers Buick’s attention to detail and advanced technologies.

Cascada

The Cascada will come equipped with OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot to keep you connected on the go. The top is a traditional fabric roof that can be lowered in 17 seconds while the car is moving at up to speeds of 31 mph. Heated steering wheel and seats will allow the driver to extend the top-down season. A turbo four-cylinder engine and automatic transmission will allow for a sporty drive. Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick said, “It’s a car that will delight customers with its fun spirit and help drive the momentum that’s fueling Buick’s success.” The Cascada is expected to hit our showroom in early 2016.2016-buick-cascada

Everyone loves a surprise at an auto show and Buick delivered with the Avenir concept car. Avenir is French for future and this concept car suggests a future for the Buick brand that is exciting and luxurious. Building on Buick’s 112-year heritage, the Avenir concept strikes the pose for the future of Buick. The sedan was designed to catch your eye and it caught the eye of the auto show.

2016-buick-concept-avenirThe Avenir was presented with the 2015 Eyes on Design Award for “Best Concept Vehicle” at the North American International Auto Show. “Avenir embodies Buick design, which enters on effortless beauty and presence without pretense,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of General Motors Global Design. Production information is still to be released, but we are looking forward to selling this beautiful car.

Silverado Midnight Edition is the New Black

2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight special edition

Truck fans know that nothing adds presence to a pickup like basic black. And Chevrolet is taking black to the next level with the Silverado Midnight special edition, on display starting today at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco, and making its public debut February 14 at the Chicago Auto Show.

Beginning with a black Silverado Z71, the Midnight special edition adds:

  • Black side moldings and beltline moldings;
  • 18-inch black painted alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires;
  • Special Z71 badges on the doors;
  • A spray-in bedliner (black, of course);
  • And the finishing touches – black Chevrolet bowties front and rear.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight special edition

Like all 2015 Silverado 1500 Z71s, Midnight special editions include off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package. Midnight special editions also include rear park assist and heated, power-adjusted outside rear-view mirrors.

Take a Peek at the New 2016 Equinox

2016 Chevy Equinox

Chevrolet’s second-bestselling vehicle in North America is the Equinox. A lot of attention is giving to Chevy’s number one selling and award winning Silverado, but the Equinox accounts for over 9% of US sales in the compact SUV market. More than 242,000 were sold last year, so we shouldn’t be surprised that Chevy gave the Equinox a whole new look.

Chevy revealed the newly made over Equinox at the Chicago Auto Show in February. The all new 2016 Chevrolet Equinox is ready to step out with a whole new look, safety features, and connectivity options. Updates include new styling with premium accents, new wheel designs and new available safety features, as well as a larger color touchscreen radio and a standard rear-vision camera for entry-level models.

Most of the new design focuses largely cosmetics and tech options. The front fascia is now accented with a chrome dual-port grille design, new premium projector-beam headlamps, and new daytime running lamps. The engine choices for the Equinox are unchanged, and that is fine because the 2.4 liter direct-injection four–cylinder engine still makes it the most fuel-efficient engine in its class. The Equinox will still get its 32-mpg EPA highway rating, which is great for the family on the go.

Another great feature on the 2016 Equinox is OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and built in Wi-Fi is offered across all models. This is the first compact SUV on the market to offer built in 4G LTE connectivity. To keep those kids happy, a new universal table holder is available to mount on the rear of the front seats. In addition to available Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety features, Equinox also offers Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning as part of comprehensive safety packages. The 2016 Equinox is expected to hit our showroom in the fall. We will keep you updated on its arrival.

Smart Fortwo Passion Coupe vs 2013 Chevrolet Spark Enumclaw Cars

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, your  Enumclaw car dealer, we are very excited about Chevrolet’s new mini car: The all-new 2013 Spark! The Spark dominates the mini car segment with more available features, outstanding value and solid performance. The Spark’s superiority is apparent when compared to the Smart Fortwo Passion Coupe:

The Smart Fortwo is a 2-person vehicle available in three trim levels: Pure, Passion Coupe and Passion Cabriolet (convertible). An electric version is also available. All non-convertible, fortwo models have two doors and a liftgate. A rear-mounted 3-cylinder engine limits the Fortwo’s cargo-carrying capacity. There is no transmission choice with the Fortwo. All models feature an (automated manual) automatic transmission. There is no manual transmission available.

Chevrolet Spark Advantages vs. Smart for two Passion:

• 5-door body style. All Chevrolet Sparks are 4-door hatchbacks. All Smart Fortwo models have 2-doors. A 4-door body style is not currently available with for two.

• Longer wheelbase. A longer wheelbase contributes to a smoother ride. The Spark’s wheelbase is 20” longer than the Smart Fortwo’s wheelbase.

• More horsepower and torque. Spark’s engine has 15 hp more and 14 lb.-ft. of torque more than Smart Fortwo’s 3-cylinder engine.

• Transmission choice. Spark buyers have a choice between a manual or automatic transmission. All Fortwo buyers must settle for the for two’s only transmission.

• Less expensive fuel requirement. The Chevrolet Spark runs on regular unleaded gasoline. The Smart fortwo’s recommended fuel is premium unleaded, which is currently about 6% more expensive.

• Larger vehicle. The Spark’s interior is nearly twice as big as the Smart fortwo’s interior (86.3 cu. ft. vs. 45.4 cu. ft.).

• Cargo volume. Spark’s cargo area is over 30% larger than the Smart fortwo’s cargo area. A larger cargo area contributes to a vehicle’s versatility.

• Front seat comfort. The Spark has greater front shoulder and hip room than fortwo.

• Comfortable driving position. The Spark has a standard tilt steering column. The Smart fortwo steering column is fixed in one position without any tilt mechanism.

• Standard OnStar. Spark’s standard OnStar telematics system provides a suite of services including Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics and much more. A telematics system is not available on Smart fortwo.

• MyLink Radio. The Smart fortwo has nothing comparable to Spark’s MyLink Radio with its embedded apps.

• Driver information. All Spark models include a standard Driver Information Center. This feature is not available with Smart fortwo Passion.

• Oil Life Monitor. This feature is not offered on Smart fortwo.

Scion iQ Hatchback vs 2013 Chevrolet Spark Sumner Cars

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, your Sumner car dealer, we are very excited about Chevrolet’s new mini car: The all-new 2013 Spark! The Spark dominates the mini car segment with more available features, outstanding value and solid performance. This fact is obvious when comparing the Chevy Spark to the Scion iQ Hatchback:

The Scion iQ is a 4-passenger, 2-door hatchback. Available in one trim level only, the well-equipped Scion is marketed as a “premium micro-subcompact.” All Scion iQs are equipped with a 1.3L DOHC 4-cylinder engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Chevrolet Spark advantages vs. Scion iQ Hatchback

• 5-door body style. All Chevrolet Sparks are 4-door hatchbacks. The Scion iQ is only available as a 2-door hatchback. A 4-door hatchback body style is not offered.

• Choice of transmissions. Spark is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Scion iQ has one transmission available—a continuously variable automatic transmission that has received mixed reviews by the motoring press.

• Standard alloy wheels on all models. All Spark models have standard alloy wheels regardless of trim level. The Scion iQ features standard steel wheels with wheel covers. Aluminum wheels are available as an accessory on Scion iQ for an additional $749.

• Superior value. Not only is Chevrolet Spark 1LT priced $1500 less than Scion iQ Pop ($14,495 vs. $15,995), it’s also better equipped.

• Larger vehicle. Spark’s interior has 12.5 cu. ft. more of passenger volume than Scion iQ. In this class of vehicle, passenger volume is an important factor in determining comfort.

• Cargo versatility. Spark’s cargo area is over three times larger than the Scion iQ cargo area (11.4 cu. ft. vs. 3.5 cu. ft.). Even with the rear seats folded, Spark’s interior seems relatively cavernous compared to the Scion iQ with over 14 cu. ft. more of cargo area (31.2 cu. ft. vs. 16.7 cu. ft).

• More front leg room. Spark has 1.1″ more front leg room.

• Greater rear-seat comfort. The Scion iQ rear seating space pales in comparison to the Spark’s roomier rear seating positions. The Spark has 13.7″ more of rear seat hip room and a whopping 6.6″ more of rear leg room.

• Standard OnStar. Spark’s standard OnStar telematics system provides a suite of services including Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics and much more. A telematics system is not available on Scion iQ.

• MyLink Radio. Scion iQ has nothing comparable to Spark’s MyLink Radio with its embedded apps. In fact, the Scion’s audio systems do not include a touch-screen.

• Standard rear spoiler. All Chevrolet Sparks include a standard rear spoiler. A rear spoiler is available as an accessory on Scion iQ for an additional $285.

• More speakers. Chevrolet Spark 1LT includes six audio speakers. The Scion iQ has four standard speakers. To get six speakers on Scion iQ, you must order the optional Rear Speaker Package which adds two speakers for an additional $100.

• Superior warranty peace of mind. The Scion 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty can’t compete with the Spark’s 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

• Emergency roadside assistance. Spark owners receive the peace of mind of emergency roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles. Scion iQ buyers receive only two years/24,000-miles of roadside assistance.

• Oil Life Monitor. This feature is not offered on Scion iQ.

Nissan Versa vs 2013 Chevrolet Spark Buckley Cars

2013 Chevrolet Spark

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, your Buckley car dealer, we are very excited about Chevrolet’s new mini car: The all-new 2013 Spark! The Spark dominates the mini car segment with more available features, outstanding value and solid performance. This fact is clearly evident when comparing the Chevrolet Spark to the Nissan Versa:

The 2012 Nissan Versa is available as an all-new 4-door Sedan or as a carryover 5-door hatchback. Since the current hatchback is near the end model run and will be redesigned later this year, our comparison is  against the new sedan. The Versa Sedan is available in three models: S, SV and SL. All Versa models share the same 1.6L DOHC 4-cylinder engine. Transmission choices are limited to a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic. Unlike the Chevrolet Spark, the Versa is not a mini car, but rather a larger subcompact. It competes against Spark by virtue of its price.

Chevrolet Spark advantages vs. Nissan Versa S Sedan

• Fresh 5-door body style. All Chevrolet Sparks are 4-door hatchbacks. The 2012 Versa hatchback is an old model that is about to be replaced. If you want an updated Versa, you must settle for a 4-door sedan.

• Standard alloy wheels on all models. All Spark models have standard alloy wheels regardless of trim level. The Nissan Versa S and SV models have standard steel wheels with wheel covers.

• Available Hill Start Assist. Both of Spark’s transmissions include a Hill Start Assist feature. This feature is not available with Nissan Versa.

• More front leg room. Spark has more front leg room than Nissan Versa.

• Standard OnStar. Spark’s standard OnStar telematics system provides a suite of services including Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics and much more. A telematics system is not available on Nissan Versa.

• MyLink Radio. Nissan Versa has nothing comparable to Spark’s MyLink Radio with its embedded apps.

• OnStar RemoteLink. Spark owners can check on their vehicle diagnostics, lock/unlock their doors and do much more from anywhere they have mobile phone service. OnStar RemoteLink takes connectivity a step further by delivering real-time vehicle information at your fingertips. Since Nissan Versa lacks a telematics system, it cannot perform tasks comparable to RemoteLink.

• Standard satellite radio. Satellite radio, with three months’ service included, is standard on Spark 1LT. Satellite radio is not available on Nissan Versa S or SV models. To get satellite radio on Nissan Versa, you must move up to the top-of-the-line SL model and purchase a pricey Tech package.

• More speakers. Chevrolet Spark 1LT includes six

audio speakers. The Nissan Versa S includes only

two speakers.

• Bluetooth for phone and audio. Spark 1LT features Bluetooth for both phone and audio. Bluetooth is not offered on Nissan Versa S. To get Bluetooth on Versa, you must move up to SV model and purchase a convenience package or purchase the SL model.

• Superior connectivity. A USB port is included on Spark 1LT. A USB port is not available on Versa S or SV models. To get a USB port on Versa, you must move up to SL model and purchase a Tech package.

• Superior warranty peace of mind. The Versa’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty can’t compete with the Spark’s 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

• Emergency roadside assistance. Spark owners receive the peace of mind of emergency roadside assistance for five years. Roadside assistance is not available with Versa.

• More air bags. All Spark models have 10 standard air bags. Nissan Versa has six air bags.

• Theft prevention. An engine immobilizer is standard on Spark; not available on Versa.

• Oil Life Monitor. This feature is not offered on Nissan Versa.
