2011 King County Fair

2011 King County Fair

During the mid 90’s there was one thing that Tyson Gamblin always looked forward too!  No it was not football or warm weather it was the King County Fair.  Tyson devoted his early summer doing yard work for neighbors to earn enough money to spend on the carnival rides and games at the King County Fair.  The King County Fair for him was his summer highlight.  The King County Fair has not been at the level it was during the 1990’s  and it took a few years hiatus a few years ago.

Well the Fair is Back! Art Gamblin Motors was excited to be part of the new 2011 King County Fair at the Enumclaw Expo Center. This years fair included a great concert lineup and all the games and rides that Tyson Gamblin loved to be part of when he was a kid.  Art Gamblin Motors brought down a great selection of vehicles for guest to look at which included the new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible.

Check out Shar Phillips in this video as it was his first time attending the famous King County Fair.

Transformers Barbeque

Say the word “Camaro” and most kids think of Bumblee: the famous Transformer.  With the release of Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon, Art Gamblin Motorswanted to have a special showing for its employees and customers.  Art Gamblin Motors coordinated with Calvary Presbyterian Church to reserve the parking lot next to the Enumclaw Chalet Movie Theatre.  The movie was shown at 7:00 PM, but  employees and ther families arrived around 5:30 for the free dinner provided by Rainier Catering.

Gamblin Motors had the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible on hand and a couple of other good looking Chevroletsfor the get together. The weather was perfect and the building provided a nice shaded area for the barbeque.  We were excited with our turn out – we anticipated about 75 people and about 100 showed up for the festivities.

Christmas Is Here

Art Gamblin Motors Christmas Tree

Its that time a year again where Art Gamblin Motors pulls out the dancing and singing Santa.  Although Santa looks warm and fuzy he scares the living day lights out of customers.   Santa has a motion sensor so when you walk by him he comes… alive belting out christmas carols! So beware when you walk in the showroom and you see Santa that at any moment those hips will start shaking to a Christmas song.

Since our Christmas tree is up it is only fitting that we sing “Oh Christmas Tree”

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging;
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging;
Not only green when summer’s here,
But also when ’tis cold and drear.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Much pleasure thou can’st give me;
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Much pleasure thou can’st give me;
How often has the Christmas tree
Afforded me the greatest glee!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Much pleasure thou can’st give me.

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!
From base to summit, gay and bright,
There’s only splendor for the sight.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
How richly God has decked thee!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
How richly God has decked thee!
Thou bidst us true and faithful be,
And trust in God unchangingly.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
How richly God has decked thee! !”

Coat Drive

Art Gamblin Motors Coat Drive

We need your help!  We are kicking off our 2nd annual clothing drive for the Enumclaw and Buckley Clothing banks.  The local clothing banks are in desperate need of Hats, Gloves and Coats.  We are accepting new and slightly used items.  Last year this clothing drive helped out the local clothing bank tremendously and we your help to make this year better than last years efforts.

We will have a vehicle in the showroom at our Main Store and at our Truck Center where you can drop off your donations.  With Western Washington expecting its coldest and wettest winter in a few years there are a lot of families that could use a coat.

So please stop in and give what you can.

New Sign

On November 15 Astronauts in Space reported seeing something glowing in the Northern Hemisphere.  After closer inspection NASA scientist could not figure out what the new light was coming from.  ABC and NBC World news attributed this strange light to the rocket sighting off the coast of California only a few days earlier.  Government Agents were sent to look around the Seattle area to find what was causing this strange light that could be seen from space.  The next night when it got dark Art Gamblin Motors flipped on their sign and agents from every government agency went to a code red.

We are excited about our new sign and although you can’t see it from space it definitely is a good looking sign.

Enumclaw Football Car Wash

Art Gamblin Motors hosted the 3rd annual Enumclaw High School Football car wash at the Truck Center on Saturday.  It was a great event for the Hornet Football team which put on the car wash to earn money for Summer Football Camp at the University of Puget Sound.  It was an all day affair for the football players as over 300 cars were washed.  The weather could have not been better, the sun was out and many of the players went home with sunburns.

Before the car wash even started each player was given tickets to go out and pre-sale.  Each ticket was sold for $10 and whatever the athlete earned went directly to their football camp budget.  Many of the players sold enough tickets to pay for all their camp which is in July.  Not only did Gamblin Motors host the car wash they added to the event by offering free car wash coupons to customers and facebook fans.  The Quick Lube joined in fundraising as they donated 10% of all sales to the Enumclaw Football Foundation.

The car wash lasted 8 hours with the seniors starting off the morning at 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.  At 8:00 AM there was a line of cars piling up and this was a common theme through out the day.  The Sophomores relieved the Seniors and took the 10:00AM to 12:00 PM shift.  To take on the lunch rush was the Junior class which took over at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.  The newest addition to Enumclaw High School football closed out the car wash as the incoming freshman picked up washed mits and went to work.  The car wash ended around 4:00 PM and over 300 cars washed!

We hope you stopped by… If not there is always next year!

Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet

It has been well over 30+ years since the Chevrolet commercial that had everyone singing Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet.  A lot has changed since the 1970’s but baseball is still America’s past time and Chevrolet is still alive and kicking.  Over the years Chevrolet has been a proud sponsor of baseball from the highest level all the way down to the little leagues.  The tradition continues as Chevrolet has donated money to little leagues all over the country part of the Youth Baseball Sweepstakes.

Art Gamblin Motors had the opportunity to present the Chinook Little League in Enumclaw with a $500 check at their Jamboree April 17, 2010.  John VanWieringen and Tyson Gamblin were excited to be part of Chinook Little Leagues opening ceremonies to kick off the little leagues 2010 season.  Along with the $500 check Chevrolet is sponsoring a raffle where little leaguers will be selling tickets for a chance to win a brand new Chevy.  It is a nation-wide drawing and tickets are only $5.  All the proceeds go directly to the Chinook Little League.

The Chinook Little League has the opportunity to earn as much as $10,000 via raffle sales!  Not only are the raffle tickets good for a chance to win a new Chevrolet, but the raffle tickets are valid for $5 off an oil change at Art Gamblin Motors Quick Lube.

The Chinook Little League was very thankful for their $500 check from Chevrolet and excited to participate in the Chevrolet Youth Baseball Sweepstakes.  It was a nice day out and it was a great day for baseball.  So next time you see your little neighbor outside with his glove and ball ask him about the raffle.
