Enumclaw Youth and Family Services Celebrity Golf Tournament

enumclaw-youth-and-family

Gamblin Motors is proud to be a sponsor of the Enumclaw Youth and Family Services Celebrity Golf Tournament being held on Monday, October 10th at the Enumclaw Golf Course. The proceeds from this event go directly to helping youth and young adults in our community. This tournament helps to provide important services to the most vulnerable populations in the Plateau area. At Gamblin Motors we believe in caring for and investing in the future of our youth and hometown.

The Enumclaw Youth and Family Services (EYFS) and Auburn Youth Resources (AYR) work together to provide much-needed support to families and young adults in need. Necessary services like early childhood education, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, homeless services and transitional housing are all programs provided by these two charitable and hard working groups. The golf tournament proceeds will specifically be used to provide mental health counseling to the disadvantaged youth and families of Enumclaw. In addition, funds raised will benefit an EYFS partnership with the Foothills Wellness Foundation to provide free dental care, food, hygiene kits, and case management programs for those in crisis on the Plateau.

Gamblin Motors is not the only group invested in supporting the great work done by EYFS. We thank all of the celebrities who are backing this charitable cause. Former NFL players such as Jason Chorak, Robin Earl, Alonzo Mitz, Nesby Glasgow, Jack Thompson, Mkristo Bruce and other celebrities will be in attendance to add their support to help raise funds for these critical community programs. To add your support to this wonderful cause, please join us on the course. To register for a round, please visit https://ayr4kids.ejoinme.org/eyfsgolf.

The Drive

Kasey Kahnes Toy Kids Car b

Russell Wilson and Kasey Kahne for the third year are hosting a celebrity golf tournament THE DRIVE to support Children’s Hospital and Strong Against Cancer.  The tournament is held at Suncadia Lodge June 27 & 28th.  The Drive includes a silent and live auction to raise money for Children’s Hospital.  Last year Kahne and Wilson presented a $400,000 check to the hospital.

Chevrolet’s driven at the Event are supplied by the Northwest Chevy Dealers and Art Gamblin Motors.  This year the Northwest Chevy Dealers donated an officially licensed one of a kind kid’s battery operated version of Kasey Kahne’s Sprint Cup Series car.  This car will be autographed by Nascar driver Kasey Kahne who was born and raised in Enumclaw then auctioned to the highest bidder.  Proceeds will go to Children’s Hospital to fight Cancer.

This unique Kid’s car is the first that will be auctioned off at various events by the Seattle International Auto Show and the Washington State New Car Dealers in support of Children’s Hospital.  The car will be featured along with other Kid cars during the Auto Show November 10-13.

Community Coat Drive

Over the last few years Gamblin Motors has supported the Enumclaw Clothing Bank with generous coat donations from our employees, customers, and community members. The Enumclaw Clothing Bank is a non-profit organization that offers donated clothes, coats, shoes and new socks and underwear to children in the district that need a little extra help. One day a week the Enumclaw Clothing Bank welcomes families to pick up needed clothing items for FREE.

As the temperature begins to drop this season, many of our children desperately need coats. During the month of November, Gamblin Motors collected new, or clean, gently used coats in any size (infant-adult) at our showrooms. There is also a drop off at Work-Sports and Outdoors. This was a great opportunity to help our community.coatdrive 4

A Whole Bunch of Color

DSCF0578

We were excited to sponsor the Win Me 5K color run. This event took place in our own backyard. The Enumclaw Expo Center was busy with thousands of people of all ages and fitness levels. What made this 5K different than any other 5K? Color! DSCF0501While racing through the beautiful course, racers were doused at ten different color stations along the way. Runners started the race wearing white and ended wearing a rainbow of colors. We were given the provided volunteers at the blue color station, and we loved hitting everyone with a little bit of Chevrolet Blue.DSCF0508

Each runner was entered to win thousands of dollars in prizes. Prizes included Macbooks, iPads, Apple watches, vacation getaways, and a brand new car. Throwing color on people is sure fun, but giving away a brand new car is exhilarating. Gamblin Motors sent home a brand new Chevy Spark with Leta Johnson. She was stunned and ecstatic.DSCF0692

DSCF0683Not only were participants given the chance to win great prizes, but could give back to multiple charities. Runners and sponsors made donations to Seattle Children’s Hospital, Strong Against Cancer, Send a Kid to Bumbshoot, and our local charity, Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation.DSCF0511

2015 Enumclaw King County Fair

file3291304050811

The King County Fair is 153 years old. When you visit the fair this year, it will remind you of the fair you attended as a child. Carnival rides, games, fair food, exhibits, and animals will  bring the memories back. There will be two, free stages of entertainment ongoing through out the day.

Buckley native, Blake Larsen is going to preform Saturday, July 18. “I was thrilled to receive the invitation to play at the King County Fair again!,” Larsen wrote in an email to The Courier-Herald. “This is going to be a very fun and intimate evening. It will be just me and my guitar player. I want this show to feel like you came over to my house and we had a concert in the back yard. Informal and lots of fun!”

There are some great attractions this year at the Fair. Enjoy a fun zip line ride or jump in a giant bubble ball and play soccer. Take an up close look at the exhibit from the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum. Don’t miss the animal fun. There is an FFA petting zoo, pig races, and Mutton Bustin’. Visit the 4-H animals.

SDRandCo (36)

Any trip to the Fair wouldn’t be complete with some delicious eats. There will be a variety of food vendors to satisfy any hunger patron. Don’t forget to grab those scones.

The Fair runs from Thursday, July 16th-Sunday, July 19th at the Enumclaw Expo Center, 45224 284th Ave SE, Enumclaw. Admission is $7, but presale tickets are available at area Safeways beginning on June 28th. Children 5 and under are free.
