Alan Has a Deal That Can’t Be Beat

Cruze red LS

Here is one of the BEST DEALS I can ever remember from Chevrolet.  It entails an alternative form of financing called a lease.  Before you say leasing is not for me, here are some people who lease their vehicles.  Three of my own children and the Comptroller, Service Manager, Finance Managers and Office Staff at Art Gamblin Motors all lease their vehicles.  For most people, leasing a new Cruze makes perfect sense.  With this two year lease you get over $1,500 more in rebates, lower interest and at the end of two years you can buy the car for a predetermined value, trade it in, or if you don’t have equity, just return it in good condition.  I hear people say, “I don’t own my vehicle if I lease.” Remember, if you have a conventional loan, you don’t own your car, the bank does.
Why would Gamblin and Chevrolet lease a new Cruze for $139 per month for two years?  The answer may be that there is a new body style change coming soon and we are betting you will want to drive that in two years.  Think about it.  Leasing makes sense for my family and it probably makes sense for someone in yours too.

The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze – a larger, lighter, more efficient and more sophisticated evolution of the brand’s best-selling global car.

Chevrolet recently introduced the all-new 2016 Cruze – a larger and lighter, more efficient and more sophisticated evolution of the brand’s best-selling global car.

Packed with new technologies such as available Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and new active safety features, as well as a more spacious interior and an athletic, aerodynamically optimized design, the 2016 Cruze elevates the compact car segment.

The all-new Cruze will be on sale in early 2016. A new, standard 1.4L turbocharged engine with direct injection and an SAE-certified 153 horsepower (113 kW) helps enable a General Motors-estimated 40 mpg on the highway with the available six-speed automatic transmission. Stop/start technology helps enhance the Cruze’s efficiency in stop-and-go driving.

The new turbo engine and a leaner architecture that reduces up to 250 pounds (113 kg) also contribute to the new Cruze’s stronger performance, with expected 0-60-mph acceleration of eight seconds.

“We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of the all-new Cruze at Gamblin Motors,” said Tyson Gamblin. “From its updated design and safety features, to its innovative technologies, we’re confident the Cruze will fit our customers’ wants and needs while on the road.”cq5dam.web.1280.1280 (2)

2012 Toyota Corolla vs 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Puget Sound Car Dealer

2012 chevrolet cruze vs toyota corolla Safety: The front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Cruze are height-adjustable, and the rear seat shoulder belts have child comfort guides that allow the belt to properly fit children. The Corolla only has front height-adjustable seat belts and no child comfort guides. The Corolla’s child locks have to be individually engaged manually at each door. The Cruze, however, has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver’s seat and to know when they are locked. The Cruze also has standard OnStar, which uses a GPS receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you’re locked out, help find your vehicle if it’s stolen or even automatically send emergency personnel to your location if needed.  Those are just a sampling of what OnStar offers. The Toyota Corolla doesn’t have anything comparable to OnStar. Parking assistance sensors in the Cruze, excluding the LS model, warn the driver of obstructions, which greatly reduce the chance of accidents. The Corolla offers nothing comparable to this. The Toyota Corolla also lags significantly behind safety when stacked up against the Cruze’s 10 standard airbags—the Corolla only has 6 airbags total. 2012 Chevrolet Cruze  Quality, Reliability and Durability: Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Cruze 40,000 miles longer than Toyota covers the Corolla. The Cruze’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Corolla’s. There are nearly 4 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Toyota dealers, making it a lot easier to get service under the Cruze’s warranty than Toyota’s. The Chevrolet Cruze’s engines use a cast iron block for durability. The Corolla uses an aluminum block for its engine, which is more likely to warp and crack than cast iron. Power and Performance: Both ofThe Cruze’s available ECOTEC engines produce 6 more horsepower than the single engine the Corolla offers. The Cruze’s 1.4L turbo engine also accelerates faster at lower RPM that the Corolla’s engine, going 0-60 faster than the Corolla. The manual Cruze Eco gets 7 more highway mpg than the Corolla. The Cruze also holds 2.4 more gallons of fuel than the Corolla granting the Cruze greater fuel range. A six-speed manual is standard on the Chevrolet Cruze. The Cruze’s transmission also uses superior gear ratios for enhanced performance and a lower final drive ratio for quieter highway operation, much less engine wear and better fuel economy. The Toyota Corolla only offers an inferior five-speed for its manual transmission. The Cruze’s optional automatic transmission is also a 6-speed as opposed to the Corolla’s inferior 5-speed automatic. A 6-speed automatic is available on the Chevrolet Cruze as well, while the Corolla offers only a 4-speed automatic! Drive and Handling: The Cruze offers better traction than the Corolla with larger 16” standard wheels whereas the Corolla has only 15” wheels standard. The Cruze LTZ offers 18” wheels while the Corolla LE offers only 16” wheels as optional. Standard handling in the Cruze is also greater than in the Corolla because the Cruze LS/LT wheels have a lower profile than the Corolla’ standard series tires. Superior handling in the Cruze over the Corolla is solidified by the Cruze’s longer wheelbase.  Interior: The Cruze is a highly efficient compact vehicle that exceeds all expectations. However, the Cruze offers so much cargo room and interior space that the EPA classifies it as a midsize vehicle. The Corolla, due to its limited interior space and cargo capacity is classified solely as a compact. The Cruze has 2.5 cubic feet more passenger room the Corolla; half an inch more front headroom, almost an inch more front legroom, .7 inches more rear headroom and 8.5 inches more rear hip room than the Corolla. The Cruze also has over 3 cubic feet more trunk space than the Corolla. We at Art Gamblin Motors, your Kent Car Dealer, are confident that the Chevrolet Cruze, which won two awards in Kiplinger’s 2011 car issue, is unquestionably superior to the Toyota Corolla. 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Power And Performance

2012 Chevrolet Cruze  At Art Gamblin Motors we know that the power, performance and efficiency of a vehicle are all key considerations for customers. That is why we are so pleased to present the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, which strikes a perfect balance between all three of these concerns. The Cruze offers two different powerful ECOTEC engines that use constant variable valve timing systems that insure high performance. While the Cruze is indeed one of the largest cars in its class it also has the best-in-class fuel economy! The standard LS Cruze has the 1.8L DOHC 4-cylinder engine. This powerful and efficient 138 horsepower engine grants 90% of its total torque over a broad spectrum from 2200-6200 rmp. This means that the Cruze grants excellent responsiveness and performance at any speed.
The ECOTEC 1.4L DOHC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is standard on Cruze LT, Eco and LTZ. This engine gives you the excellent efficiency of a small displacement engine and the impressive power of the turbocharger, giving the Cruze the power usually reserved for much larger, less efficient vehicles. The turbocharger is integrated into the exhaust manifold, which makes its full power available without any delay. This 1.4L ECOTEC engine, while powerful and high performing, is also one of the most fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines in the world! A 6-speed manual transmission is standard with the LS, LT and Eco Cruze. The expertly engineered synchronizers in this transmission make shifting easy and smooth, while offering multiple overdrive gears.
2012 Chevrolet Cruze  The 6T40 6-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission is standard on the Cruze LTZ and is available in LS, LT and Eco Cruze as well. This automatic transmission is smooth and capable by itself and also has Driver Shift Control that allows the driver to use tap up and tap down manual shifting at will. Advanced adaptive shift controls in the transmission intelligently employ lower gears when slowing down or coasting on an incline. While all models of the Chevy Cruze achieve excellent fuel economy, the Cruze Eco maximizes fuel economy to the highest degree. This has made the Cruze Eco the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered car in the United States with 42 miles per gallon on the highway. This is due to incredible aerodynamic design that offers a very low drag coefficient of 0.29; race car inspired underbody panels and electronically controlled air shutters to further increase aerodynamic efficiency. These are just a few examples of the many innovative features that allow the Cruze Eco to get such outstanding gas mileage, while still offering great power and performance.

42 MPG Chevrolet Cruze Eco

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco

Wondering how the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco model manages to hit 42 mpg on the highway? Lucky for you General Motors has put together this short video showing how the Cruze Eco model manages to hit 42 mpg on the highway with some significant fuel-saving modifications.

Chevrolet Cruze Eco 43 MPG

Many people in the car industry want to know how the Chevrolet Cruze Eco gets 43 MPG on the hwy.  People are stumped by this because the Eco is not a clean diesel nor a hybrid, so is the number inflated by Chevrolet or does the Chevrolet Cruze get 43-MPG.  Well we are proud to say that the number is NOT inflated and the Cruze Eco really does get 43 MPG.  So what is the secret for the Cruze to get such amazing fuel saving numbers.

Chevrolet wanted to address three key areas to maximize fuel efficiency. The specific areas of focus to help get the Cruze Eco to 43-MPG was to work on the aero-dymanics, make the Cruze lighter and fine tune the engine.

The first place they started was aero-dynamics.  Chevrolet and its engineers put an under body covering or tray to reduce wind turbulence and control airflow under the tires.  The next step was to close off the front grille but still maintaining the correct engine temperature.  One of the biggest tricks that Chevy came up with was when the Cruze Eco reaches about 38 MPH and calculating temperature gauges throughout the car a set of slates drop down in the front bumper area to help the Cruze to drop its coefficient of drag by over 10% compared to the sedan.  Now think of this set of slates dropping like the Bugatti Veryon’s spoiler that magically appears when it reaches certain speeds.

The egineers wanted to put the Cruze Eco on a diet and drop as much weight as possible, but they were only to drop the weight by 214 lbs.  Over 42 changes were made to shed the 214 Lbs.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco comes with a 1.4L turbo-charged four-cylinder engine with a 6-speed manual transmission.  To save a little extra fuel the air conditioning compressor now has a clutch to reduce drag on the engine.  Also, there is an intelligent charging system set up that only engages the alternator when needed.

Now there isn’t much difference cosmetically from the Chevrolet Cruze and the Cruze Eco.  There is not graphics down the side like the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrids.  If you were to put the Eco next to one of our many Cruzes on the lot you would only notice the difference with the green Eco logo on the back and the slightly modified grille in the front.

At Art Gamblin Motors we are excited about the new Chevrolet Cruze Eco and its staggering 43-MPG hwy.  We suggest if you are in the market for a gas saving vehicle to put the Cruze Eco on your list, we know you won’t be disappointed.
