Jay Leno has had a very outstanding career with many achivements and now he can add another one to his list. He has recently hit the 10K mile mark on his Chevrolet Volt without even refilling his vehicle with gas once. Thats pretty incredible if you ask me. Leno, quoted in The New York Times “Wheels” blog, said he took delivery of his Chevrolet Volt last December with a full 9.3 gallon tank, and the tank is still more than half-full. To commemorate owners’ achievements, Chevrolet is planning on giving them a “10,000 Electric Mile” badge.

“Volt owners are an extremely passionate and enthusiastic group. They carry pictures of their car, refer to themselves by their VIN number and freely talk about their ownership experience with anyone who will ask,” Chris Perry, vice president of Global Chevrolet Marketing, said. “The 10,000 Electric Mile badge not only recognizes their achievement, but gives another point to brag about with anyone interested in learning more about the Chevrolet Volt.”Based on a recent survey by Chevrolet, Volt owners fill up once a month on average, and travel more than 900 miles between fuel fill-ups. EPA estimates for the car are 94 miles per gallon equivalent when running in electric mode, and 35 mpg city and 40 highway in range-extended mode.
