Recently Tyson Gamblin took some time to go visit some classrooms at Enumclaw High School and talk to students about how things such as there studies in school will help them with there careers in life. One particular class he visited was Mr.Lovelford’s math class. Lovelford said ‘ I think the lesson taught by Tyson gave students a chance to see the stuff we are learning is used in the real world every day.’ Which is true as the students also appreciated the fact that somebody from an industry was using these math techniques instead of just another teacher. Mr.Lovelford said ‘ students got something out of this and learned some very valuable information about things such as predictions in the industry.’ Also in exchange for Mr.Gamblins lesson Mr.Lovelford gave him some Chutney and a nice card!

Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament
Art Gamblin Motors participated in the 2011 Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament at Enumclaw Golf Course on August 3, 2011. The weather could not have been better for the event. The Chamber of Commerce announced it was the largest turnout for the tournament on record. It was a Shotgun Start with about 30+ teams.
Team Gamblin Motors consisted of Tyson Gamblin, Teddy Sherwood, Jaren Jokela and John Vanwieringen. The fearsome foursome started on the par 3 3rd hole. Teddy Sherwood wanted to thank the Chamber of Commerce for putting team Gamblin Motors right behind the Fugate Ford Team. Teddy said that driving into the competition wasn’t a bad thing nor on purpose. Teddy was the long man of the day as he won the long drive competition on the Par 4 11th hole.
There was a great turn out of sponsors and Sophia and Hillary Gamblin were on the Par 3 7th Hole handing out Gamblin Motors Water Bottles and Grapes.
Team Gamblin Motors put together an impressive round of 13 under but was unable to bring home the title but walked away with 2nd place. You can see more pictures at Gamblin Motors Facebook Page.
2011 King County Fair
During the mid 90’s there was one thing that Tyson Gamblin always looked forward too! No it was not football or warm weather it was the King County Fair. Tyson devoted his early summer doing yard work for neighbors to earn enough money to spend on the carnival rides and games at the King County Fair. The King County Fair for him was his summer highlight. The King County Fair has not been at the level it was during the 1990’s and it took a few years hiatus a few years ago.
Well the Fair is Back! Art Gamblin Motors was excited to be part of the new 2011 King County Fair at the Enumclaw Expo Center. This years fair included a great concert lineup and all the games and rides that Tyson Gamblin loved to be part of when he was a kid. Art Gamblin Motors brought down a great selection of vehicles for guest to look at which included the new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible.
Check out Shar Phillips in this video as it was his first time attending the famous King County Fair.
Ladies Night – Heels on Wheels
Art Gamblin Motors hosted its first Ladies night on Thursday July 7, 2011. Chevrolet had a special promotion going on that inspired this event: test drive a Chevrolet and get a free $40 Spa Gift Certificate through Spa-Finder.com. As women arrived for the event, we had a valet set up so they had an opportunity to test drive a new Chevrolet to recieve a $40 Spa Finder Certificate.
Once inside, guests were treated to a catered dinner by Mazatlan Restaurant. Along with dinner, we had over 20 local vendors set up around our body shop and service area. We had a wide range of booths that included everything from a pampered chef, purses, custom clothing, jewelry, custom greeting cards and makeup.
Once everyone settled in, Tyson Gamblin Internet Coordinator and Mike Johnson Service Manager went over the nights agenda. The women broke up into four groups in order to learn something new about Auto Car and Art Gamblin Motors. There were 4 stations :
Station #1 was led by Justin Knowles, Body Shop Manager at Art Gamblin Motors Collision Center. Justin went over what to do in case of an accident, the steps that you should take and what shortcuts should not be taken. Justin went over the process of exchanging information, calling the police and taking pictures of the scene.
Station #2 was directed by Mike Johnson, the Service Manager at Art Gamblin Motors Service Department. Mike went over all the different parts that can go in your car and why factory parts are the best option. To illustrate this, Mike took apart three air filters and fuel filters that ranged in price from good, better and best. Mike showcased that sometimes saving a couple of dollars on a non manufactured part might cost you in the long run.
Station #3 was taught by Travis Weingard, an Auto Technician at Art Gamblin Motors Service Department. Travis went over the proper and safest way to change a tire. This illustration included locating a spare tire, jack, tools, and the basic steps of actually changing a tire. A major point of emphases was making sure that the vehicle is secure before you take off a tire.
Station #4 was led byAimee Locke, a Service Advisor at Art Gamblin Motors. Aimee created a post card of over 30 different symbols that can appear on your dash while driving or starting your vehicle. Aimee went over which lights – although frightening looking – are not that bad, and which lights require immediate attention.
Overall it was a great night and we had a great turn out. We had over 75 women from around the area come out to our first ladies night. We are already in the process of planning our next one for the early part of 2011.
What is that!?
Have you seen one of these before? It is ok if you haven’t. it is not some new modern art trend that you are missing out on. This is a QR Code or also known as a “matrix barcode” This is a 2-dimensional barcode which can be scanned by any barcode scanner which includes the one on your iphone or smartphone. Go ahead and scan the code with your phone above and see where it takes you!
QR codes were created in the middle 1990’s in Japan and were used in manufacturing to track parts and shipments. Known as Quick Response barcodes these specialized barcodes allowed the tracking of parts to much more efficient but also allowed users to get important information at the same time. Over the past decade these codes have started appearing outside of the manufacture sector and made their way into advertising.
You will start seeing these funny looking barcodes more and more in stores, newspapers and magazines. You might have seen one in a newspaper advertisement or even a magazine already but you probably did not know what it was. What marketers and advertisers love about these barcodes is allowing customers/shoppers to get the specific digital information quickly and directly.
At Art Gamblin Motors we have created a specific QR code for each one of our vehicles. When you are shopping or looking around at one of our vehicles and you want to find out what options or the current internet price all it takes is a quick scan with your smart phone. Each QR code will take you directly to each vehicles specific page on our website www.gamblinmotors.com.
Check out the quick little video of how simple it is to do by Tyson Gamblin.
Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet
It has been well over 30+ years since the Chevrolet commercial that had everyone singing Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet. A lot has changed since the 1970’s but baseball is still America’s past time and Chevrolet is still alive and kicking. Over the years Chevrolet has been a proud sponsor of baseball from the highest level all the way down to the little leagues. The tradition continues as Chevrolet has donated money to little leagues all over the country part of the Youth Baseball Sweepstakes.
Art Gamblin Motors had the opportunity to present the Chinook Little League in Enumclaw with a $500 check at their Jamboree April 17, 2010. John VanWieringen and Tyson Gamblin were excited to be part of Chinook Little Leagues opening ceremonies to kick off the little leagues 2010 season. Along with the $500 check Chevrolet is sponsoring a raffle where little leaguers will be selling tickets for a chance to win a brand new Chevy. It is a nation-wide drawing and tickets are only $5. All the proceeds go directly to the Chinook Little League.
The Chinook Little League has the opportunity to earn as much as $10,000 via raffle sales! Not only are the raffle tickets good for a chance to win a new Chevrolet, but the raffle tickets are valid for $5 off an oil change at Art Gamblin Motors Quick Lube.
The Chinook Little League was very thankful for their $500 check from Chevrolet and excited to participate in the Chevrolet Youth Baseball Sweepstakes. It was a nice day out and it was a great day for baseball. So next time you see your little neighbor outside with his glove and ball ask him about the raffle.
